The "Alumnotes" feature provides members with a place to share information (in several different categories) about what is going on in their lives. Use the criteria below to search for the members whose notes you would like to read.

To Search for Alumnotes: 1. Specify a set of search criteria. To select a criterion for use in your search, click the the checkbox to the left of its filter name. You must select at least one Note Category to conduct a search. 2. Make any selections or provide any text required by the selected criteria. 3. Click the "Search Alumnotes" button. NOTE: Clicking the "Search Alumnotes>>" button without defining criteria will generate a list of all existing and approved Alumnotes.
To Submit an Alumnote: To add a note, click the "Add Alumnote" button. If you have recently added an Alumnote, it is possible that you will not see it in the results immediately. Each Community has its own rules and time frames regarding Administrator approval of member-submitted content.

Daniel M. Harrington, Ph.D., president and chief operations officer, north, of the Lehigh Cement Co., Allentown, Pa., has been named to the Board of Directors of ASTM International for a three-year term.
Harrington, who became an ASTM International member this year, resides in Bethlehem, Pa.
Following his graduation from the Pennsylvania State University with a B.A. in science, Harrington began his career in the concrete and cement industry as a management intern at W.R. Grace and Co. in Cambridge, Mass. Rising to the position of vice president and general manager at W.R. Grace, Harrington then became president and chief executive officer for Scancem Industries, Northeast – USA, in Reading, Pa.
In 1999, Harrington became president of Lehigh East for Lehigh Cement, and in 2003, took on additional responsibility as president and chief operating officer of Lehigh North. Lehigh North includes five cement plants, a grinding plant and import terminal, and a sand and gravel operation. He has strategy, organizational structure and financial responsibilities for Lehigh North.
Author of management, strategy and marketing articles for a variety of industry publications, Harrington has conducted seminars on total quality management, strategy and sales skills for various companies and association groups. He has also taught marketing and management classes at the university level.
A member of the boards of the Portland Cement Association, the Pennsylvania Aggregates and Concrete Association and the Northeast Cement Shipper’s Association, Harrington has served all three groups as chair of the board. In addition, he is a member of the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association.
Harrington earned his M.B.A. in finance from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Teaneck, N.J., and an M.A. and a Ph.D. in executive management from Claremont Graduate University.
Established in 1898, ASTM International is one of the largest international standards development and delivery systems in the world. ASTM standards are accepted and used in research and development, product testing, quality systems, and commercial transactions around the globe.

The Power of Media: The availability of books and other traditional media, like pens and paper, makes a critical difference in the educational opportunities of children with little or no resources.

Pamela Rutledge was named Director of the Media Psychology Research Center (MPR) in Boston. MPR is a not-for-profit media lab that examines the interaction of media with human experience with the goal of promoting and developing media that can serve as a force for positive change across the lifespan and around the world. The MPR partners with FableVision and collaborates with faculty at Harvard University and Oxford University. Media Psychology is an applied and research branch of psychology and part of a larger international and interdisciplinary trend in understanding the impact media have on individuals and groups. MPR's brand of media psychology draws heavily on positive psychology. (See www.mprcenter.org)
Pam is completing her PhD in Media Psychology at Fielding Graduate University. Her research interests are using media to bridge cultural diffrences, particularly between the US and China, and developing media to promote personal strengths and positive identity. She is also a partner at Rutledge Capital with her husband, Dr. John Rutledge. (see www.rutledgecapital.com.) where they recently helped to establish a library in a school for handicapped and orphaned children in Tibet. |

| Dr. Udo Henseler is presently serving on the Board of Directors of Tutogen Medical, Inc.(AMEX), a manufacturer of sterile biological implant products. Udo is also serving on the Board of Spire Corp. (NASDAQ). Spire is in the business of manufacturing solar electric equipment and biomedical devices. In addition he serves as Chair of the Audit Committees of both companies. Udo is presently President of the private MSI Management-Services-International business. |

| Susan worked for a number of years as an Industrial Engineer for ALCOA Aluminum at their casting and forging divisions. She continued her education at the California Family Study Center earing an MA in Marriage, Family and Child Therapy. She is currently the Operations Director for a large community mental health center in Vancouver, Washington. While attending CGU her last name was Swartz. |

Formerly a senior executive with a NYSE-listed high tech multinational, John E. Karayan, MBA 1986; M.A. Management 1993; PhD Management 199 is a business lawyer with a "Big 8" CPA firm background who retired from practice to become a university professor, but has remained active outside academia as an expert witness. He was just appointed Professor and Chair of Accounting/IT at Woodbury University, one of the oldest universities west of the Mississippi.
