On April 26, 2008,  nearly 180 alumni and friends returned to campus to celebrate CGU's Inaugural Alumni Day.  
  
Joy Kliewer, Director of Alumni and Donor Relations, welcomes everyone to "A Day of Great Conversation."

Yi Feng, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs  
Mike Csikszentmihalyi, Distinguished Professor of Psychology and Director, Quality of Life Research Center, CGU, spoke on "The Science of Happiness."  
  
  
  
Kate Gale (Ph.D. English ’04), Editor of Red Hen Press, Poet, Author, President of PEN USA, Member, School of Arts and Humanities Board of Advisors, CGU, gave a talk titled "Claremont Makes Jazz Happen."  
Ambassador Sallama Shaker, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Egypt, spoke on "Winners and Losers:  New Aspects of Leadership in a Globalized Age."  
  
  
"Paying It Forward:  Latino Political History in California and the Legacy of George Blair" -- (from left) Richard Santillan, Jennifer Merolla, Carlos Muñoz, Jr., Richard Santillan, Roberto De La Cruz, and Pitzer Professor José Calderón.  
  
Ira Jackson, Henry Y. Hwang Dean and Professor of Management in the Drucker School, gave a talk titled, "Addressing the Responsibility Gap:  A Global Movement Planted by Peter Drucker in Claremont."
